The coveted NAG-1 plate is now within sight for young Dominic Duran.

The 5-year-old Mantecan triumphed in the 2011 Redline Cup Finals in Boulder City, Nev. this past weekend, bringing home with him the championship trophy, a No. 1 plate and Redline Cup jacket awarded only to the top finishers in each age division.

Duran, who races for the Psykopath Industries BMX team and is a kindergartener at Woodward Elementary, has one more big prize to add to his growing collection: The aforementioned NAG-1 plate awarded to the country’s top point-getter in his/her national age group.

The American Bicycle Association BMX National Series comes to a close Nov. 26-27 in the Grand Nationals at the QuikTrip Center in Tulsa, Okla. Duran is currently No. 1 in the nation in the 5-year-old boys circuit.

The Duran family is raising funds to help make the trip. Donation tables will be set up at Safeway and Raley’s in Manteca once a week. Additionally, Mountain Mike’s Pizza (Nov. 1) and Chilaberries Frozen Yogurt (Oct. 27) are hosting a fundraising events to help support Duran, who is in his first year of competitive BMX racing.

I talked to my good buddy Nick Dawg and he gave me the sad news, his words below from his blog is how we all feel. We lost one of our own. Fumi Cummins you will be missed.

It's been a rough year or few months or whatever. And it really sucks to relay this information because losing someone you know is never a good thing. Im not sure exactly when I first met Fumiko, but she was an old school BMX'er and had a genuinely happy outlook on life. I recall meeting her somewhere at a Ca national and then I remember sessioning her local track in Oklahoma with Alan Hudson and a few of the locals out there. We hit a dinner session with her and David and talked nor*cal bmx. She was and will always be Psykopath family :) When I heard she passed away today I was bummed for sure. Normally Id head to the trails and roost a double in her honor but the rainy days will have to let up for that. But Fumi I owe ya one for sure. Here's to a future meeting and never goodbye but I'll be seein ya again. RIP Kidd.

Factory UK Psykopath is Back

Factory UK Psykopath riders Dan and Andy's (THE BASH BROTHERS)latest update and results at the British Championships in Cheddar

1st off cruisers took place on Saturdays racing which Dan rode in the 17-29 category, which was stacked with 25 riders consisting with many junior and elite, Dan hit up a 5th, 2nd, and 3rd in his motos which sent him safe through to the semi finals, Dan had a good gate in his semi which lead him out of the 1st turn in 3rd and ended up finishing in that all important 4th position to see him threw into the finals.

Dan ended up in lane 8 but pulled off a great swoop in the 1st corner which put him in 4th place, but took a knock in the last corner which knocked him back to 7th so a good all round day for Dan.

Sunday came and its was raining, so a wet and damp track meant it was going to be very slippery coming in to the the fast downhill 1st turn and with 42 riders in the 17-24 category meant it was going to be a tough day.

Dan got a 3rd, 2nd and 4th in his motos with Andy grabbing 3rd, 1st, and 3rd which put us safe into the quarters finals, so quarters came round and Andy was up 1st and with his great gates and 1st strait it put him into the lead out if the 1st corner which he held and won. Now Dan was up and had a good start and grabbed a 3rd so both guys threw to the semis.

Semi final time and we were both psyked. Dan's semi was up 1st he had a good gate but got held wide in the 1st turn and came out 7th there was a crash in turn 2 so Dan was now 5th, chasing down 4th but just couldn't quite get there.
Andy hit the track and got squeezed in the middle of the 1st straight and came together with another rider and ended up taking eachother out.

But all in all a good result from the UK team and now the season is over its time to hit the training and come back with a new look and a bigger team.

Dominic Duran has exploded on the BMX scene, earning a national ranking in just his first season.

At the beginning of the year, 5-year-old Dominic Duran was in the opening stages of his first season racing on the American Bicycle Association BMX circuit, now, just seven months later, Duran has lifted himself to a No. 1 ranking in the Championship Series standings.

Duran has put together an impressive first act on his bicycling career, leading all the BMX’ers in his 5-under division with 57 points.

“Dominic has been racing for just about seven months,” Dominic’s mother Megan Campbell said. “And within that seven months he has taken it to an entirely different level. I didn’t know anything about BMX before he started and now he ranked in the sport nationally.”

The young standout continued his accelerated climb to the top with a first-place finish in the Northern California State Championship Finals in Roseville at Oak Creek BMX Park over the weekend. Duran went into the weekend tied with Blake Mejorado, but earned the top spot with his first place finish.

Duran’s most recent exploits has pulled him into the top five of the ABABMX’ national rankings. With three events remaining on the national schedule, Duran hopes to be in position to vie for the national No. 1 spot.

The Woodward Elementary kindergartener has been able to win over 20 races throughout his short career, qualifying himself for the national stage with three victories on qualified tracks. Even with the success he has rolled on the wheels of his mini Red Line bike, the sport is still nothing but excitement for Duran. The victories have also brought on sponsorships, with Duran already netting the backing of Psykopath Industries Factory Team.

“For him, it is so much fun,” his mother said. “He really likes to do it. He goes out there and he just does what he’s naturally good at. At 2, he was riding his bike with no training wheels.

“He loves the accomplishment when he gets first, but I don’t think he understands the severity of his accomplishments.”

Chris will be racing select UCI Supercross events, Panamerican Games, All Mexico Nationals, and select ABA Nationals in the U.S. Currently Chris is at the Chula Vista OTC training with his coach and Red Bull athlete Coach Greg Romero getting his training on. Chris Mireles is only 17 years of age but shows great potential and very capable of having a great future in bmx. His main goal is to train for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The PSYKOPATH family Congrads and Farewell to Josh "Squeeks" Boothby

Yes its official our boy Josh "Squeeks" Boothby just signed a full ride deal with SE BIKES, and we here at Psykopath Headquarters are pretty dam stoked about his new sponsorship with the giant company SE. Squeeks got his name years ago when he was a young 15 year old grom, he was a skinny boy that had the most annoying squeeky voice to come out of a youngman. The name "Squeek" has stuck all this years, now he is a tall full grown strong athletic man that could of play any sport, but picked BMX. Squeeks has been riding for over 9 years off and on for Psykopath, and has become a local bay area legend in street riding. We have seen him grown up around our shop, and he has worked in our company from editing film, to building trails in the back of our shop, shipping frames out, and making our morning Starbucks run. There are so many stories we have from the crazy parties, to beer runs, grub and dash at the local Denny's, road trips, to the collections and shaking up dead beat bike shops that wouldn't pay us when we fronted frames and even getting Squeeks to race in the beginner class at our local double points race for kicks. We know he will be in good hands with the SE Crew, Todd Lyons runs a strong program for his riders. Squeeks still leaves around the corner from our shop so we will still see him around. We don't have our local National in Roseville Nor Cal this year, but at least the ABA added Vegas to the list for another rodeo bmx race. 2006 we raced there, Alan Hudson and Terry Tennete were the top dogs there that weekend. Psykopath Industries would like to welcome our newest team riders Matty Juster And Chelsea King , Matty races the tough AA Pro/ Elite class And has had some great results this year With a 4th at the ACT state titles in AA Pro and after a massive crash in the probikx semi where he picked himself back up to make the final ,he finished 4th in Probikx at the australian titles . He will hopefully be making his way to some major races next year including the Australian Titles in Cairns , Where he hopes to finish top 3 in AA Pro/ Elite
Chelsea races the womens AA Pro / Junior Elite and after a year where she finished 2nd in Junior Elite at the recent North Island Titles in Rotarua , New Zealand and a 2nd in the 16 year girls at the australian titles , Chelsea hopes to get to the World Titles next year in Copenhaagen where she wants to finish on the podium And hopefully race one of the Supercross Rounds
We are stoked to have Matty and Chelsea on board for the 2011 season and look forward to some great results.

Lake Cunningham Regional Skatepark, Livermore, NorCal Classic, Racing Due to some political BS, the NorCal Classic is going to held at the Livermore track. Since there won’t be any dirt jumps, there will be a session at Cunningham in San Jose afterwards, until 10:30; if you entered the Classic, admission to Cunningham will be free of charge. See you on Saturday!

It’s almost time for your annual freestyle-friendly NorCal racing event. Sign-ups are from 11 to 12 on Saturday the 20th, and $10 or ten cans of food will cover your entry for the day. No memberships are required, but a helmet and long sleeves are. The event is all ages, and everyone entered gets a NCC backpack/sackpack thing and a t-shirt from SAYiWON’T. Vet Pro Factory Rider Craig "Big Fish" Fisher was admitted to hospital monday with a sinus infection , where upon further inspection doctors found a tumor , Craig has had surgery to relieve the clotting and pressure behind the faceplate and will have to wait until early next year to have the tumor removed , Everyone at Psykopath is wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery , Looking forward to seeing you at the track.

Psykopath rider Josh "Squeeks" Boothby, was at the SF Bike Expo in San Fransico Ca, this weekend. He entered the bmx street contest pulled some crazy lines with a top 5results our boy and fromer bmx racer Chad Kerly won the bmx street contest. Our other street rider Young Tony was tearing up the spot, but took a few nasty falls, he was ok, just a little bursed up. A few folks talked Squeeks to enter the gay Fixie contest where riders ride 26 inch bikes with thin wheels, and do gay tricks like ride backward with no hands. Squeeks surprised everyone and took his bike on the bmx course and let it rip, he rode his fixie like a bmx bike and won the whole thing Psykopath style.

Our Factory Team Manager Jon Moohey wins the Redline Cup West, but the rules changed. He won the whole thing and the Redline Cup, but ends up with the No. 2 plate? Jon has been kicking ass and building a great team for 2011. Psykopath thanks our Factory Team Manager for a great season and many more, its great to have a team manager that races, but Psykopath wouldn't have it any other way, we are a true rider own company out of Nor Cal.
